DMD Insight Wins Two American Package Design Awards

JANUARY 15, 2010

Clean, clever designs caught the attention of judges of the 2010 American Package Design Awards this year. The awards recognize effective packaging, point-of-purchase and in-store graphics.

DMD Insight took home two of the awards for the tabrasa Dry-Erase Paint Kit, for client MDC Wallcoverings, and Hunter DouglasMyBlinds Sample Books, which earned the integrated marketing agency recognition by Graphic Design USA.

The two winners were selected from 1,500 submissions, an increase of more than 20 percent in 2008. Just 150 firms and organizations were honored with a Certificate of Excellence.

DMD Insight created an entire paint kit for tabrasa by IdeaPaint, distributed by MDC Wallcoverings. That kit includes installation instructions, roller, stir stick, can opener and wet paint sign. As the product is a dry erase paint that allows creative collaboration on any surface, DMD insight incorporated people into the design of the box and paint can.

Hunter Douglas’ MyBlinds Sample Books display different products, styles, colors, and options for the right window covering for each room. DMD Insight designed the bright colored sample books to create shelf-presence in retail stores and differentiate the brand in an over-crowded market.

DMD worked with both clients to design and develop packaging that would enhance brand recognition and the sophisticated feel of the product.
